Sweden Producer Prices Rise Most In 13 Months

04/24/2026 - 05:24:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - Producer prices in Sweden increased for the first time in five months in March and at the quickest pace in just over a year amid soaring energy costs, data from Statistics Sweden showed on Friday.

The producer price index climbed 2.0 percent year-on-year in March, reversing a 1.7 percent decrease in February. Moreover, this was the fastest growth since February 2025, when prices rose 3.4 percent.

Prices for energy-related products alone grew 15.8 percent from last year, while costs for consumer and capital goods slid by 2.4 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively.

Excluding energy-related products, the producer price index decreased 0.5 percent.

On a monthly basis, producer prices moved up 0.6 percent, following a 0.2 percent increase in February.

Data showed that the import price index rose 3.7 percent in March from a year ago, while export prices increased only 0.2 percent.
