Spain Producer Prices Rise 3.4% In March

(RTTNews) - Spain's producer prices increased for the first time in five months in March amid higher energy costs, data released by the statistical office INE showed on Friday.

Producer prices climbed 3.4 percent year-on-year in March, reversing February's 6.9 percent decline, which was the biggest fall since March 2024.

The annual increase was driven by a 7.9 percent renewed surge in energy prices versus a 22.1 percent plunge in February. This evolution was mainly due to the increase in prices for the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity and oil refining.

Prices of capital and consumer goods grew 1.8 percent and 1.2 percent, respectively. Intermediate goods prices were 0.8 percent higher.

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 6.5 percent, in contrast to the 3.0 percent decrease in February.
