Norway Producer Prices Fall 2.8%

(RTTNews) - Norway's producer prices decreased for the fifth straight month in September, data from Statistics Norway showed on Thursday.

The producer price index dropped 2.8 percent year-over-year in September, after falling 3.0 percent in the prior month.

Energy prices decreased 7.9 percent from last year. Excluding energy goods, producer price inflation was 1.3 percent.

Prices for extracted and related services plunged by 11.9 percent, while those for electricity, gas, and steam alone surged 38.0 percent. Data showed that manufacturing prices rose by 1.3 percent.

Monthly, producer prices dropped 1.7 percent, following a 0.9 percent growth in July.
