Taiwan Manufacturing Sector Picks Up Steam In January - S&P Global

02/01/2026 - 19:42:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in Taiwan continued to expand in January, and at a faster pace, the latest survey from S&P Global revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 51.7.

That's up from 50.9 in December and it moves further above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Manufacturing firms operating in Taiwan signaled a back-to back rise in production volumes in January. The rate of growth quickened from December and, though modest, was the most pronounced since last February. Companies frequently mentioned adjusting their output levels to reflect greater amounts of new work.

Total new business expanded at a solid pace that was the fastest in 11 months. Greater customer demand, both at home and overseas, underpinned the latest upturn in sales, according to panel members.
