Sweden Producer Prices Rise 0.5%

(RTTNews) - Producer prices in Sweden increased for the first time in seven months in September amid higher costs for energy-related products, data from Statistics Sweden showed on Friday.

The producer price index rose 0.5 percent year-on-year in September, reversing a 0.7 percent decrease in August.

Prices for energy-related products alone grew sharply by 16.4 percent from last year. Meanwhile, prices for consumer and capital goods declined 0.1 percent and 1.0 percent, respectively.

Excluding energy-related products, the producer price index decreased 1.6 percent from last year.

On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 0.7 percent, in contrast to a 0.5 percent increase in August.
