Sweden Producer Prices Fall 2.0% In January

(RTTNews) - Producer prices in Sweden decreased for the third straight month in January, data from Statistics Sweden showed on Wednesday.

The producer price index fell 2.0 percent year-on-year in January, slower than the 2.7 percent decrease in December, which was the steepest fall in six months.

Prices for consumer goods alone declined 4.5 percent from last year, and those for capital goods dropped 3.5 percent. Meanwhile, prices for energy-related products rose 5.8 percent.

Excluding energy-related products, the producer price index decreased 3.6 percent.

On a monthly basis, producer prices rebounded 2.4 percent, following a 1.1 percent decrease in December.

Data showed that both import and export prices fell 7.4 percent and 7.7 percent, respectively, in January compared to a year ago.
