08/11/2025 - 08:58:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - South Africa's manufacturing output expanded for the second straight month in June, data from Statistics South Africa showed on Monday.

Manufacturing production rose 1.9 percent year-over-year in June, faster than the 0.7 percent recovery in May.

The largest positive contributions were made by the food and beverages division and the petroleum, chemical products, rubber, and plastic products division, the agency said.

On a monthly basis, manufacturing production remained flat versus a 2.2 percent growth in May.

During the second quarter, manufacturing production grew 1.5 percent compared with the previous quarter as seven of the ten manufacturing divisions reported positive growth rates over this period.
