South Africa ABSA PMI Falls In December

01/07/2022 - 04:16:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - South Africa's manufacturing growth slowed in December, after improving in the previous month, survey data from the Bureau for Economic Research showed Friday. The Absa PMI fell 3.1 points to 54.1, the BER said. A reading above 50 suggests growth in the sector.

In November, the index had gained 3.6 points to reach 57.2, which was the highest level since before the COVID-19 third wave and the social unrest shock in July.

Excluding inventories, all the major subcomponents were lower in December, the survey showed.
