(RTTNews) - Singapore's industrial production growth rebounded in March, preliminary data from the Economic Development Board revealed on Friday.

Industrial production rose 5.8 percent year-on-year in July, faster than the 0.9 percent increase in February. The expected growth rate was 6.9 percent.

Moreover, this was the biggest expansion since November 2024, when output had risen 10.8 percent.

Excluding biomedical manufacturing, industrial production grew 4.9 percent annually in March versus a 2.8 percent gain in the prior month.

On a monthly basis, industrial production declined at a faster pace of 3.6 percent after falling 2.9 percent in February.

Among the major clusters, the transport engineering segment advanced the most, by 20.2 percent annually in March, followed by the biomedical manufacturing segment with an expansion of 17.2 percent. Meanwhile, general manufacturing output contracted sharply, by 13.0 percent.
