Norway Retail Sales Fall 0.5% In September

(RTTNews) - Norway's retail sales logged a renewed decline in September, preliminary data from Statistics Norway showed on Wednesday.

The volume of retail sales dropped a seasonally adjusted 0.5 percent month-on-month in September, reversing a 0.1 percent increase in August. Moreover, this was the first fall since June 2024.

The downturn in September was largely driven by a 3.4 percent decrease in sales of automotive fuel, followed by a 2.3 percent fall in demand for cultural or recreational goods. Meanwhile, sales of food items rebounded 0.9 percent.

On a yearly basis, retail sales growth eased to 3.7 percent from 5.0 percent.
