New Zealand Building Permits Rise 2.8% In November

(RTTNews) - The total number of building permits issued in November was up a seasonally adjusted 2.8 percent on month in November, Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday - coming in at 3,517.

That follows the upwardly revised 0.7 percent decline in October (originally -0.9 percent).

In the year ended November 2025, the actual number of new dwellings consented was 35,969, up 7.0 percent from the year ended November 2024.

The annual value of non-residential building work consented was NZ$8.8 billion, down 6.9 percent from the year ended November 2024.

Permits were issued for 1,607 stand-alone houses; 1,596 townhouses, flats, and units; 184 apartments; and 130 retirement village units.
