Mexico Retail Sales Rise 2.7%

(RTTNews) - Mexico's retail sales increased for the third straight month in March, data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, or INEGI, showed on Wednesday.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, retail sales climbed 2.7 percent year-over-year in March, faster than the 1.8 percent increase in February.

Sales of stationery, entertainment, and other personal items grew by 9.5 percent annually in March, and sales at self-service and department stores increased by 6.6 percent.

On a monthly basis, the decline in retail sales rose 0.5 percent in March versus 0.3 percent gain a month ago.
