Indonesian Consumer Confidence Eases In January

(RTTNews) - Indonesian consumer confidence eased slightly in January from an eight-month low in the previous month, survey data from Bank Indonesia showed on Tuesday.

The consumer confidence index dropped to 127.2 in January from 127.7 in the previous month. However, a reading above 100 indicates optimism among households.

The overall strong consumer confidence indicates persistently solid consumer confidence in economic conditions, the agency said.

The decrease in consumer confidence in January was driven by a weaker current economic condition index, with the index falling to 127.2 from 127.7. On the other hand, the future economic condition index improved to 140.8 in January from 139.5 in the prior month.
