Hungary Inflation Rises In November

(RTTNews) - Hungary's consumer price inflation accelerated in November, data from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed on Wednesday.

The consumer price index rose 7.4 percent year-on-year in November, after a 6.5 percent increase in October. Economists had expected a 7.3 percent rise.

Price increases were measured over the last twelve months for motor fuels and alcoholic beverages and tobacco, the agency said.

Price for food grew 6.0 percent annually in November and those for consumer durable rose 14.7 percent. Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and services rose by 11.0 percent and 4.6 percent, respectively.

On a month-on-month basis, consumer prices increased 0.7 percent in November, after a 1.1 percent rise in the prior month.

Core consumer prices rose 5.3 percent annually in November and increased 0.7 percent from the previous month.

The EU measure of harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, rose 7.5 percent annually and gained 0.7 percent from the prior month.
