Hong Kong Private Sector Accelerates In February - S&P Global

03/03/2026 - 19:38:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - The private sector in Hong Kong continued to expand in February, and at a faster pace, the latest survey from S&P Global revealed on Wednesday with a services PMI score of 53.3.

That's up from 52.3 in January, and it moves further above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

New order inflows across the private sector economy increased for the fifth month in a row during February. According to panel members, increased tourist numbers, improved client budgets and new sales channels across local and international markets had boosted sales.

In fact, new orders from both Mainland China and international markets rose sharply during February. Higher overall sales led to a sustained upturn in output, with the rate of growth accelerating to a three-month high. However, there was evidence of sustained pressure on capacity across the Hong Kong SAR private sector.
