Estonia Trade Gap Narrows In July

(RTTNews) - Estonia's foreign trade deficit decreased in July from a year ago as exports grew faster than imports, figures from Statistics Estonia showed on Wednesday.

The trade gap dropped to EUR 430 million in July from EUR 444 million in the same month last year. In June, the trade gap was EUR 383 million.

Exports climbed 3.0 percent from last year, and imports were 2.0 percent higher. Machinery and mechanical appliances, including computers, led export growth with a 16.0 percent annual increase.

Shipments to non-EU states grew 13.0 percent, while those EU countries remained flat. The country imported 4.0 percent less from EU member states.
