Taiwan Manufacturing Sector Slows In April - Nikkei

05/01/2017 - 21:10:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in Taiwan continued to expand in April, albeit at a slower pace, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Tuesday with a manufacturing PMI score of 54.4.

That's down from 56.2 in March, although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Among the individual components, growth in output and new orders slipped but remained solid.

Staffing levels saw marked improvement, while inflationary pressures softened but remained sharp.
