PERU: Inflation Rises 2.49% In September, Back To Central Bank Target Range

10/03/2017 - 16:17:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - The annual consumer price inflation in Peru increased by 2.49% in September, from 3.17% in August, decelerating back to the current target range of 1% to 3% set by the local central bank. According to the country's statistics office, prices in Peru slightly decreased by 0.02% in September on a monthly basis.

The monthly decrease tracked the fall in Food and Beverages prices, mainly influenced by lower fresh vegetable and legumes, tubers, roots, and sugar prices.

In contrast, the groups of clothing and footwear, housing rental, fuel and electricity, furniture and appliances, healthcare and conservation, transportation and communications and other goods and services posted higher prices in September.
