Italy's Inflation Slows As Estimated In September

10/13/2017 - 05:57:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - Italy's inflation slowed as estimated in September, final data from the statistical office Istat showed Friday.

Consumer price inflation eased marginally to 1.1 percent in September from 1.2 percent in August.

The slowdown was mainly due to weaker growth in prices of both services related to transport and regulated energy products.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.3 percent, reversing a 0.4 percent rise a month ago. Both monthly and annual inflation figures matched flash estimate published on September 29.

Inflation, based on the harmonized index of consumer prices, came in at 1.3 percent in September, as estimated, versus 1.4 percent in previous month.

Month-on-month, inflation advanced to 1.8 percent from 0.1 percent in August. Monthly inflation also came in line with estimate.
