(RTTNews) - Finland's industrial production expanded for the fifth successive month in July, figures from Statistics Finland showed Friday.

Industrial production climbed 2.7 percent year-over-year in July, slightly faster than the 2.6 percent rise in the previous month.

Among sectors, mining and quarrying output alone jumped by 37.8 percent annually in July, while manufacturing production increased at a moderate pace of 2.6 percent.

At the same time, output in the electrical and electronics industry registered a decline of 4.2 percent.

Month-on-month, industrial production rebounded 0.4 percent from June, when it fell by 0.7 percent.

Another report from the statistical office showed that manufacturing new orders grew 9.2 percent yearly in July, slower than June's 11.7 percent spike. It was the third month of rise in a row.
