European Economics Preview: Germany's Flash Inflation Data Due

(RTTNews) - Flash inflation and consumer confidence from Germany and economic sentiment from euro area are due on Thursday, headlining a busy day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, Germany's GFK consumer confidence data is due. The forward-looking sentiment index is forecast to rise to 11 in October from 10.9 in September.

At 3.00 am ET, Spain's INE releases consumer prices and retail sales figures. Inflation is forecast to remain unchanged at 2 percent in September. Retail sales growth for August is seen at 2 percent versus 1.1 percent in July.

At 3.30 am ET, Statistics Sweden is scheduled to release retail sales for August. Sales are forecast to fall 0.1 percent on month, reversing a 0.9 percent rise in July.

At 4.15 am ET, Bank of England Mark Carney is set to speak at an event in London.

At 5.00 am ET, European Commission releases euro area economic confidence for September. The sentiment index is seen rising to 112 from 111.9 in August. Economists expect the business climate index to climb marginally to 1.12 from 1.09 in the previous month.

At 8.00 am ET, Germany's consumer prices for September. Inflation is forecast to remain unchanged at 1.8 percent.
