European Economics Preview: Eurozone Retail, PMI Data Due

(RTTNews) - Retail sales, final Purchasing Managers' survey and producer prices are due from the euro area on Thursday, headlining a busy day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, Destatis is slated to release Germany's factory orders for February. Orders are forecast to grow 1.5 percent on month, in contrast to a 3.9 percent fall in January.

At 3.00 am ET, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office publishes retail sales for February. Economists forecast sales to grow 7.2 percent on year, following January's 7.8 percent increase.

At 3.15 am ET, Swiss consumer prices are due. Inflation is forecast to rise slightly to 0.7 percent in March from 0.6 percent in February.

In the meantime, Spain's services PMI is due. The index is seen falling to 56.1 in March from 57.3 in February.

At 3.30 am ET, Statistics Sweden is scheduled to release industrial production and orders data.

At 3.45 am ET, services PMI data is due from Italy. The index is forecast to fall to 53.9 in March from 55 in February.

Thereafter, final PMI reports are due from France and Germany.

At 4.00 am ET, IHS Markit is set to publish Eurozone final composite PMI. The score is seen at 55.3 in March, in line with flash estimate.

Half an hour later, UK Markit/CIPS services PMI is due. The index is expected to drop to 54.0 in March from 54.5 in February.

At 5.00 am ET, Eurostat releases retail sales and producer prices for February. Eurozone retail sales are forecast to rise 0.5 percent on month, in contrast to a 0.1 percent drop in January. Producer prices are forecast to remain flat on month in February.
