European Economics Preview: Eurozone Flash Inflation, Germany's Unemployment Due

(RTTNews) - Flash inflation from euro area and unemployment and retail sales from Germany are due on Friday, headlining a busy day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, Destatis is scheduled to issue Germany's retail sales data. Sales are forecast to drop 0.5 percent on month in May, in contrast to April's 1.6 percent increase. Also, Germany's import prices are due.

At 2.45 am ET, the French statistical office Insee releases flash consumer prices and consumer spending data. Inflation is forecast to rise slightly to 2.1 percent in June from 2 percent in May.

At 3.00 am ET, producer prices from Hungary and final GDP from the Czech Republic are due.

At 3.55 am ET, Germany's unemployment data is due. The jobless rate is forecast to remain unchanged at 5.2 percent in June.

At 4.30 am ET, the Office for National Statistics publishes UK first quarter GDP data. The final estimate is set to confirm 0.1 percent sequential growth.

In the meantime, Bank of England is set to publish mortgage approvals in May. The number of mortgages approved in May is seen at 62,200 in May versus 62,500 in April.

At 5.00 am ET, Eurozone flash inflation figures are due. Economists forecast inflation to rise to 2 percent in June from 1.9 percent in May.
