COLOMBIA: Duque Leads Petro By 18-point Margin In Voting Intention Survey

06/06/2018 - 18:25:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - The conservative candidate Ivan Duque holds an 18-point margin over his leftist contender, Gustavo Petro, in a new intention voting survey ahead of the second round of the presidential election in Colombia, scheduled for June 17.

According to a Yanhaas survey, Duque has 52% of the preference, while Petro is mentioned by 34% of the respondents. The poll shows that 14% of the electorate intend to vote blank. The margin of error was set at 3.2%.

The result is similar to a National Consulting Center released last week, which showed Duque with a 55-35 lead over Petro. In the first round, held on May 27, Duque obtained more than 7.5 million votes (39.13%), while Petro amassed 4.8 million (25.09%) votes.
