COLOMBIA: Companies Authorized To Acquire Quotas In Investment Funds Abroad

11/05/2017 - 17:19:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - The Colombian government has issued a decree allowing Colombian companies to acquire investment fund shares abroad. The Ministry of Finance said the move is aimed at facilitating the participation of Colombian investors in securities markets of other countries.

Although the investment vehicles of the countries of the Pacific Alliance, for example, may be commercialized in Colombia, currently the Colombian products may only be offered in Chile.

Soon, Colombian collective investment funds may be offered in all jurisdictions of the Pacific Alliance, which would favor the financing of infrastructure works, transportation projects, real estate funds, among others, through capitals of investors of its member countries.
