Bulgaria Current Account Surplus Grows In July

(RTTNews) - Bulgaria's current surplus increased notably in July from a year ago, figures from the Bulgarian National Bank showed Tuesday.

The current account surplus rose to EUR 1.14 billion in July from EUR 690.3 million in the corresponding month last year.

The goods trade balance turned to a surplus of EUR 58.5 million in July from a deficit of EUR 0.7 million a year earlier. At the same time, the surplus on services trade rose to EUR 736.6 million from EUR 701.9 million.

The primary income balance came in at a surplus of EUR 44.5 million versus a shortfall of EUR 83.4 million last year. The secondary income surplus increased from EUR 72.4 million to EUR 301.2 million.

Meanwhile, the capital account surplus shrank from EUR 123.2 million to EUR 75.8 million. On the other side, the financial account surplus climbed to EUR 724.3 million from EUR 456.7 million.
