Brazil Weekly Consumer Price Index Falls Less Than Expected

(RTTNews) - Brazil's weekly consumer price index decreased less-than-expected in the week ended September 30, preliminary data from the think tank FGV showed Monday.

The weekly consumer price index, or IPC-S, dropped 0.02 percent after a 0.07 percent fall in the previous week ended September 22.

Economists had forecast a 0.08 percent decline.

The index has risen 2.31 percent year-to-date and 3.17 percent in the last 12 months.

Food prices fell 0.48 percent during the week and housing costs decreased 0.40 percent. The biggest increase was recorded in clothing prices, up 0.64 percent.
