ARGENTINA: Singapore To Expand Variety Of Meat Imports From The Country

12/05/2017 - 17:27:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - The Singaporean government approved imports of chilled and frozen beef from Argentina, and will also accept sheep and goat meat from the South-American country, according to the Argentinean Foreign Ministry.

The products must come from Argentinean FMD-free zones with and without vaccination, said Federico Barttfeld, the Argentinean ambassador to Singapore.

Until now, Singapore only allowed the purchase of Argentinean boneless meat produced exclusively in Patagonia.

The Foreign Ministry of Argentina said in a statement that Singapore is a net importer of food, and also, according to a report published by the World Economic Forum in 2016, is the most open and favorable to international trade in the world, since the vast majority of products are duty-free.
