ARGENTINA: Government To Receive US$ 1.6 Bln From Oil Companies In Installments

04/03/2018 - 18:06:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - The Argentinean government approved a deal to cancel oil companies' debts related to a previous economic plan in exchange for US$ 1.583 billion paid in 30 installments from 2019 onward.

The deal includes 20 companies which benefitted from the Gas Plan created in 2013 to increase production and decrease imports of natural gas.

Almost half of the debt (US$ 792.1 million) should be paid directly to the state-owned oil and gas company YPF.

In addition to YPF, the payments should benefit the Grupo Pan American (US$ 162.9 million), Total Austral (US$ 159.54 million), Wintershall Energia (US$ 120.8 million), and Petrolera Pampa (US$ 90.9 million).
