06/06/2017 - 08:01:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - (Agencia CMA Latam) Economists increased their forecast for the annual economic growth rate expected in the second quarter, from 1.3% to 1.4%, but revised down their estimates for GDP expansion in 2017 from 2.7% to 2.6%, according to the most recent central bank monthly survey with market participants.

Surveyed economists raised their forecasts for 2017 inflation rate from 21.0% in the previous survey to 21.6%, but projected inflation for the next 12 months fell from 17.9% in April's survey to 17.4% in May.

The poll showed that surveyed analysts forecast a downward path for interest rates, to 22% by year-end, from 26.25% currently, while the exchange rate forecast was slightly adjusted upward.
