ARGENTINA: BCRA Launches Daily Auctions Of US$ 7.5 Billion Provided By The IMF

06/21/2018 - 14:55:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - Argentina's Central Bank (BCRA) has announced the start of the daily auctions program to allocate the financing provided by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which was formalized Wednesday, for the equivalent to US$ 7.5 billion to cover expenses denominated in Argentinean pesos, in accordance with the request of the Ministry of Finance.

With the measure, the BCRA should sell US$ 100 million daily during the next 75 business days. The tenders start immediately.

"If it is necessary to adjust the schedule for greater seasonal weight needs, the corresponding adjustments should be announced in a timely manner," the BCRA said in a press release.

The auctions will take place at 1:00 pm (Buenos Aires time) and each one should remain open for 5 minutes. The financial entity also added that participants can express their interest with up to three positions each, with a minimum amount of US$ 1 million each and in increments of US$ 1 million.
